Native Animal Rescue is a small Santa Cruz non-profit licensed to rehabilitate the distressed wildlife of Santa Cruz County. In 2023, we cared for over 2,000 birds, from small hummingbirds to large pelicans, hawks, and owls. We also took in over 800 mammals, including bobcats, bats, coyotes, foxes, raccoons, opossums, fawns, squirrels, skunks, and others. Turtles, lizards, salamanders, and snakes were also brought to us to be rehabilitated.
Our ultimate goal is to release these animals back to the wild by giving them the best care possible to ensure they are healthy and able to survive on their own. Our trained staff and volunteers are available every day of the year to answer phone calls, rescue, receive, assess, treat and care for the animals. We also work with veterinarians who provide medical treatment when necessary for little or no charge.
Your donations provide specialized food, medical supplies (including vaccines), enclosures enriched for development, and all other supplies needed to successfully care for these animals until they are ready to be released back to the wild.
